AKIPRESS.COM - The nation-wide team for coronavirus prevention made the decision to temporarily stop export of some food products, Asia-Plus reported.
The temporary ban on export will apply to grain, cereals, beans, flour, wheat, rice, eggs, potato and meat since April 25 for an indefinite period.
Accordin to official statistics, Tajikistan exported fruits, vegetables, melons, tea, rice, wheat and cereals for around $27 milion, which is 2.3% of the country's overall exports.
The country also exported sausages, other meat products, sugar, confectionery, bread, juices, alcohol, non-alcohol beveeages for almost $5.1 million. This is 0.4% of the country's exports.
Meat, dairy, eggs exports amounted to $999,000.
Fat and cooking oil exports totaled $129,000.
Thus, the country's food exports exceeded $33 million last year, this is 2.8% the country's exports.
