State of emergency extended in Bishkek, Osh, Jalal-Abad until May 10

AKIPRESS.COM - The state of emergency will be extended in Bishkek, Osh, Jalal-Abad and At-Bashi district of Naryn region, President Sooronbai Jeenbekov said at the meeting of the Security Council today.
Such decision was made after reports delivered by First Deputy Prime Minister Kubatbek Boronov and Health Minister Sabirjan Abdikarimov on the current situation. Both suggested extension of the state of emergency in Bishkek, Osh, Jalal-Abad and At-Bashi district until May 10.
The emergency situation will be in effect in the areas where the state of emergency will be lifted, including Nookat and Kara-Suu districts of Osh reigon, Suzak district of Jalal-Abad region.
"The government and all line agencies need to continue anti-crisis measures recommended by the Security Council. The changes in the action plan should be made in consultation with commandant's offices, suggestions of local authorities on loosening of restrictions for business," the President said.
The Security Council considered the further steps on containment of the coronavirus infection and resumption of social and economic activities in the country.
The state of emergency was declared in Bishkek, Osh, Jalal-Abad, Nookat and Kara-Suu districts of Osh region, Suzak district of Jalal-Abad region since March 25 and was then prolonged until April 30.
The state of emergency was declared in Naryn and At-Bashi district of Naryn region since April 15.
