Turkmenistan intends to set up ferry service with Astrakhan

AKIPRESS.COM - The second meeting of the Turkmen-Astrakhan Joint Council on Business Issues took place in a video conference format on Wednesday. The parties discussed the logistical opportunities of Astrakhan water-transport hub and the organization of ferry service between the Turkmenbashi International Seaport and the International Seaport of Olya.
The sides paid special attention to the possibilities of expanding trade cooperation, with particular interest in the supply of textile, chemical and foods products. The participants also exchanged views on the supply of agricultural products of Astrakhan to the markets of Turkmenistan and setting up the export of nonmetallic and textile materials of Turkmen production to Astrakhan.
The interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the process of expanding Turkmen-Russian collaboration in different spheres of mutual interest and considered the subject of establishing direct contacts between the representatives of Turkmen and Astrakhan businesses.
