AKIPRESS.COM - Imams of several Dushanbe mosques recommended worshipers to refrain from visits to mosques for collective prayers as a precautionary measure against coronavirus, Avesta reported.
This initiative comes from clergy, Afshin Mukin, press secretary at the Committee for Religious Affairs, said.
Such initiative follows the recommendations of the Islamic Center of Tajikistan. Several other countries restrictive collective prayers as well, he said.
The quarantine was not declared however, he said and did not rule out the possibility the recommendation to refrain from visits to mosques will be voiced at the country level.
The Tajik authorities earlier banned nationals of 35 countries from entry over coronavirus fears.
