First consignment of Uzbek sweet cherries sold in Russia's Siberia

AKIPRESS.COM - The first truck with sweet cherries from Uzbekistan arrived in Novosibirsk last week, EastFruit reported. The Uzbek wholesale dealers sold sweet cherries at 550 rubles ($7.3) for a kilo, but even with such price the demand exceeded the supply.
Uzbekistan exports from 35,000 to 50,000 tons of sweet cherries every year. Russia imports around 75,000 tons of sweet cherries a year, according to official information, and more than 100,000 tons, according to EastFruit.
