4 bodies found in flooded areas after dam burst in Uzbekistan

AKIPRESS.COM - The rescue and search operation is continuing in Syrdarya region of Uzbekistan for the fifth day in a row.
Four bodies were found in different parts of the flooded areas, the Ministry of Emergency Situations said.
It was reported earlier two servicemen of the National Guard of Uzbekistan were carried away by water after the Sardoba dam burst. The body of one serviceman was found, the search for the second was continued.
Around 2,000 special vehicles of the Emergency Ministry, Defense Ministry, Interior Ministry, National Guard and other services are used in the area. The water is pumped out from households, infrastructure facilities with use of fire trucks. The irrigation and drainage networks are cleared.
The bodies of domestic animals are buried, the areas removed from water are disinfected.
According to preliminary reports, 8 kindergartens, 16 schools, 7 medical facilities, 1 college, 7 cemeteries, 3 mosques, 13 bridges, 52 km of roads, 1 farmers market were damaged.
As a result of the Sardoba dam burst on May 1, around 70,000 people were evacuated to a safe place.
