Uzbekistan joins Hague Conference on Private International Law

AKIPRESS.COM - Uzbekistan has joined the Hague Conference on Private International Law, the Ministry of Justice said.
The Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH) is an intergovernmental organisation in the area of private international law, that administers several international conventions, protocols and soft law instruments.
HCCH included 83 participants (82 states and the European Union) before. After Uzbekistan and the Dominican Republic joined the Conference, the number of signatories reached 85.
Uzbekistan's participation in the Hague Conference will enable the country to get involved into unification of norms of international family and private law, further development of the law system in line with the world standards, to make protection of rights and interests of citizens abroad more effectively, the Ministry of Justice said.
The national regulations will be amended, which will simplify international legal assistance system and will provide broader opportunities for citizens needing such assistance. Uzbekistan will be also able to reflect national interests in future international documents, the Ministry of Justice stated.
