AKIPRESS.COM - Kyrgyzstan plans providing humanitarian aid to Uzbekistan, Emergency Minister Zamirbek Askarov said on May 6 at the parliament session.
A number of villages in Uzbekistan were flooded after the burst of Sardoba dam, he said.
The aid will include cement, basic necessities, blankets, other items.
Humanitarian aid will be delivered in a few days, he added.
The Syr Darya river, which runs near the border between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, overflowed after the Uzbek dam Sardoba broke on May 1.
About 70,000 people from 22 villages in Uzbekistan and 5,400 people from four Kazakhstan villages were evacuated.
