AKIPRESS.COM - 541 citizens of Kyrgyzstan today arrived in Bishkek from Sol-Iletsk on the Russian-Kazakh border, the Foreign Ministry of Kyrgyzstan said.
Transportation of the citizens of Kyrgyzstan stranded on the Russian-Kazakh border was arranged following the talks with the Kazakh authorities on humanitarian evacuation of citizens stuck there after Kazakhstan declared the state of emergency and closed its borders.
Travel in their vehicles was not permitted by Kazakhstan.
"Transportation of citizens by special buses in one column in escort of police allowed to evacuate a bigger number of citizens than planned initially, women and children among them," the Foreign Ministry said.
All arrived citizens will be taken to the observation points.
The Foreign Ministry of Kyrgyzstan underlined that the state of emergency is still in effect in Kazakhstan and the entry to the country for foreign nationals is not allowed. Citizens from other parts of Russia do not need to travel to the Russian-Kazakh border, since they will not be allowed to cross into Kazakhstan for further travel to Kyrgyzstan, the Foreign Ministry said.
