Uzbekistan dispatches emergency workers and special vehicles to Kazakhstan

AKIPRESS.COM - The delegation of Uzbekistan led by advisor to the President Tursinhan Hudaibergenov visited the flooded districts of Turkestan region after Sardoba dam burst.
The delegation watched the consequences of the flooding and identified actions that should be taken, the Emergency Ministry of Uzbekistan said.
209 emergency workers and 169 special vehicles were dispatched to Kazakhstan.
As a result of Sardoba dam burst on May 1, settlements in Maktaaral district of Turkestan region were flooded, more than 30,000 people were evacuated. Hundreds of houses and thousands of hectares of sown fields were covered by water.
Kazakhstan estimated the damage caused by flooding at 404 million tenge, slightly less than $1 million.
