Uzbekistan to build 50 high-rise apartment buildings in Syrdarya region for those affected by Sardoba dam burst

AKIPRESS.COM - 50 high-rise apartment buildings will be erected in three districts of Uzbekistan that were flooded after collapse of the Sardoba dam in Syrdarya region.
Owners of destroyed houses will live there. The respective order was signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Construction of 50 high-rise apartment buildings are planned in Sardoba, Akalty, Mirzaabad districts in 2020-2021, local media reported.
The administrations will make list of citizens, whose houses were seriously damaged and who will receive apartments free of charge. The apartment buildings will be constructed on public budget funds or other finances.
The governmental commission was set up for liquidation of accident consequences, which is led by Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov.
The Finance Ministry will transfer 100 billion soums (over $9.8 milion) to the region budget for liquidation of consequences of the emergency situation, including provision of financial assistance to injured citizens and their families.
The Minister of Water Resources and Construction will develop an action plan for restoration of the Sardoba dam, prevention of water leakage and reconstruction of the damaged part of the dam.
