CDC approves $1.38 million for COVID-19 response in Kyrgyzstan

AKIPRESS.COM - The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC/CAR) has pledged $1.38 million to support the government of Kyrgyzstan in managing the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.
Dr. Daniel Singer, Regional Director for Central Asia, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said the CDC team will work with the Kyrgyz Health Ministry to implement a plan to fight the coronavirus.
"We expect to purchase hundreds of thousands dollars equipment and supplies for Krgyzstan's laboratories to expand the nation's abilities to test for Covid -19. We also hope to be able to our longstanding collaboration to be able to support the government in advising more effective response measures," said Dr. Singer.
