Near 16,000 medical workers on COVID-19 fight frontlines in Uzbekistan get incentives for $5.4 million in total

AKIPRESS.COM - 15,825 medical workers involved into coronavirus infection fight got pay supplements in the amount of 54.9 billion soums ($5.4 million) in total, Finance Minister Timur Ishmetov said. In accordance with the presidential order of March 19, the daily supplement to the pay of 6% of monthly wages is paid to medical, epidemiological and other workers in the period of their participation in containment of coronavidus pandemic.
In accordance with the presidential resolution of March 26, additional payments are made to medical workers at hospitals treating coronavirus patients and laboratory workers for every 14 days of work, including 25 milion soums to doctors, laboratory workers; 15 million soums to middle-level medical workers, 10 million soums to junior-level personnel; 5 million soums to other workers.
As of May 7, the Ministry of Finance paid 22.8 billion soums to 14,301 medical workers as 6%-pay supplement. The incentives for 14 days of work were paid to 1,524 workers in the amount of 32.048 billion soums, Gazeta.uz reported.
