Hotline receives 59 calls on child abuse for 4 months, 1 criminal probe launched

AKIPRESS.COM - The hotline for children's assistance received 2,440 calls asking for assistance in the first 4 months of this year, 59 of the calls complained about child abuse, the Ministry of Labor and Social Development said.
191 calls were made by children and 2,249 by adults.
102 calls reported about family relations and conflicts, 81 reported about domestic violence against women, 59 about cruel treatment and violence against children, 2 about money extortion at school, 2 on suicide.
3 facts of child abuse were confirmed and 8 were not confirmed. 1 criminal probe was launched against parents. 1 fact of psychological violence against child was confirmed. The explanations were provided to the father of the child.
Five children were taken to the rehabilitation center.
