AKIPRESS.COM - Police forces are on high alert in Batken region since March 22 in connection with coronavirus pandemic, Turmush reported. Police officers, medical workers, emergency workers are stationed at the sanitary and quarantine checkpoints in Kyzyl-Kiya, Sulukta, Batken, throughout Kadamjai, Leilek and Batken districts. Foot patrols carry out outreach work with local population.
People are urged to stay at home and practice a good personal hygiene.
Soldiers from the military unit are involved into border patrolling on the border with Tajikistan to ensure safety for population.
The deputy governors of Batken region and Sughd region held talks on May 10. The sides agreed to intensify patrolling to ensure safety for population of border areas and to prevent spread of COVID-19.
