AKIPRESS.COM - Twenty families in Kara-Mart village, Suzak district, Jalal-Abad region, were moved to tents from their houses due to risk of mudslides since May 1, Turmush reported. The tents were set up by the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The local authorities stretched power transmission line to the tent camp. The electricity will be covered by the rural municipality for 3 months.
Despite the villagers received land plots for construction of houses in another area, they have not begun construction yet, since the villagers think the area is still unsafe for construction.
Baimaala area in Kara-Mart village is a mudslide risk zone since 1994. People received subsidies and land plots from the government and were supposed to begin construction of houses, but this process has not started yet.
