Prison breakers can rely on amnesty if they voluntarily surrender within 3 months from the date of entry into force of the law on amnesty (from 12 May 2020 to 12 August 2020).
Earlier, President Sooronbai Jeenbekov signed the law on amnesty on occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Victory Day and the 10th anniversary of the 2010 April Revolution.
The amnesty will apply to men above 60 years and women above 55 years; people with disabilities, only supporters of family having at least 2 minor children or children with disabilities; persons who committed minor crimes for the first time; single mothers; mothers of many children; women and minors, whose unserved prison term is less than a year when the amendments enter into effect.
