WHO trusts data of Tajik Health Ministry - expert team leader

AKIPRESS.COM - The World Health Organization trusts the data of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Tajikistan and will continue providing assistance at all stages of COVID-19 fight, leader of WHO mission to Tajikistan, Dr Patrick O'Connor, leader of the expert team, said at the meeting with leadership of the Ministry of Health, Khovar reported. The actions taken in Tajikistan impact the situation not only in Central Asia, but Europe as well. This was said during the press briefing on May 12.
People should know that the main measures in fight against pandemic is practicing a good personal hygiene, wearing masks and avoiding visit to public places. These are the measures that the WHO and the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Tajikistan recommend people to follow, Dr Patrick O'Connor said.
The WHO expert team arrived in Tajikistan on May 1. The main purpose of its visit to the country is assistance in assessment of risks, formulation of response mechanisms, including assessment of experimental and laboratory capacity.
