AKIPRESS.COM - President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev inaugurated the three-level interchange in Tashkent on May 20, the president's press service said.
During the past 3 years, the number of cars in Tashkent grew for 95,000. 4 interchanges were built for 3 years to reduce traffic jams
The interchange has 3 levels. The length of the first level is 593 meters. The second level is loop 29 meters in length. The third level is 502 meters long. The first and third levels have 6 lanes, the second level has 5 lanes.
The capacity of this intersection was 7,000 cars an hour before. Now 20,000 cars may pass it. The interchange does not have traffic lights allowing movement without stop.
"The number of cars in Tashkent will be growing. We need to act proactively and continue the work on enlargement of roads and construction of bridges," President Mirziyoyev said.
