Funeral for ex-Speaker of Kyrgyz Parliament held in Bishkek

AKIPRESS.COM - The funeral for ex-Speaker of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan Mukar Cholponbaev was held in Bishkek.
He was buried at the Ala-Archa cemetery.
The funeral was attended by relatives, friends, colleagues, Speaker Dastanbek Jumabekov, Chief of President's Administration Dosaly Esenaliev, Health Minister Sabirjan Abdikarimov, Deputy Prime Minister Akram Madumarov.
Mukar Cholponbaev died from complications of disease after he contracted COVID-19.
He was taken to the hospital on May 5. After his condition deteriorated, he was taken to the intensive care. He died at 12.10 on May 24.
Mukar Cholponbaev was Justice Minister during 1993-1995. In 1995-1996, he was Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan. Until 2000, he was member of the Parliament. In 2017, he ran for the President of Kyrgyzstan.
