AKIPRESS.COM - Near 300 citizens of Uzbekistan willing to return to Uzbekistan from Russia via Kazakhstan gathered at the Russian-Kazakh border, the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan said. Despite the earlier warning discouraging from travel to the Russian-Kazakh border, citizens of Uzbekistan continue arriving at the border.
The Foreign Ministry said the previously arranged transit corridor on May 18 and 19 was permitted as an exception and further transit is impossible.
"Despite our warnings, around 280 citizens gathered at the Russian-Kazakh border," the Foreign Ministry stated.
The government of Samara region offered jobs at industrial enterprises for Uzbek citizens and said they will be provided with accommodation and meals.
However, only 25 of them accepted the offer of the region government, the rest still remain in Samara region near the border.
The Foreign Ministry has asked the citizens at the border to return to their place of temporary residence and wait for organization of the chartered flights there.
