Face masks mandatory in public places and public transport, President Tokayev says amid growth of Covid-19 cases

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev has instructed the government and local administrations to address the situation with the growing Covid-19 cases.
"Quarantine measures are not observed in towns, which leads to growth in confirmed cases. The government, region governors, mayors you should improve the situation. Masks are mandatory in public places and public transport. Resolutions actions should be taken to protect health of citizens," President Tokayev said on Twitter.
Public service centers reopened in Almaty since MAy 25. Cafes and restaurants reopened in Nur-Sultan. Domestic flights were resumed between all cities.
Almaty vice mayor Yerlan Kojagapanov said those wearing no masks in the streets and indoors will be fined. Business entities allowing visitors to enter without masks will be fined as well.
Kazakhstan has so far confirmed 8,969 cases. The growth rate made 5.1%.
