Parliament of Kyrgyzstan turns down bill on creation of registry of persons with disabilities

AKIPRESS.COM - The Parliament of Kyrgyzstan today has rejected the bill on creation of the registry of persons with disabilities.
The bill envisioned creation of the accessible conditions for persons with disabilities in different spheres, establishment of electronic registry of persons with disabilities.
Establishment of the council for accessibility was suggested by the bill, which would include heads of line government agencies and local aithorities, for regulation of the process of development of the respective infrastructure.
MP Dastan Bekeshev, author of the bill, said infrastructure for persons with disabilities remains not accessible and for this reason establishment of the infrastructure council was suggested.
Several lawmakers said the bill should be adopted, but expressed concerns concerning finances for its implementation.
64 MPs voted against the bill in the result.
Rejection of the bill outraged its author, who accused the President's Representatives in Parliament that they discouraged MPs to vote for the bill.
