Tajik Border Service claims Kyrgyz citizen opened fire into Tajik citizen

AKIPRESS.COM - A Kyrgyz citizen opened fire into a Tajik citizen today on the Tajik-Kyrgyz border, the Border Troops of the State National Security Committee of Tajikistan said. "On May 27, at 11.55 a.m. despite earlier signed agreements, Kyrgyz citizen Soat Bahtibekov, native of Kok-Tash village, Ak-Sai rural municipality, opened fire into Tajik citizen Mutabarhonum Sharopova, native of Chorkuh rural municipality, the woman was wounded in her right forearm.
"The action of the citizen of Kyrgyzstan is seen as the attempt to artificially destabilize the situation on the border, which may lead to response reaction by Tajik citizens of border areas in this vulnerable zone," the Border Troops stated.
The Tajik woman was taken to the hospital. The authorities of the two countries are working on the ground for normalization of the situation.
