Woman detained in Uzbekistan after she attempted to exchange her 3-month-old baby for apartment

AKIPRESS.COM - A mother and grandfather of a 3-month-old infant were detained in Navoi region by police after they tried to exhange the child for 3-room apartment, the region police department said.
The woman and her father were detained on May 23 during a special operation.
"A 33-year-old woman from Navoi region was detained in the moment of sale of her baby in exchange for the 3-room apartment valued at around $25,000. The woman plotted the deal together with her father," the police said.
On May 25, the police arrested a woman in Turtkul district of Karakalpakstan, who attempted to sell her 13-year-old son for $15,000.
Several days ago a woman was apprehended in Khorezm, who tried to sell her 2-year-old child for $7,700.
