Reinstatement of lockdown unlikely in Bishkek and Osh – First Deputy PM

AKIPRESS.COM - "I think the restrictions won't be reinstated in Bishkek and Osh," First Deputy Prime Minister Kubatbek Boronov told a briefing today. He reminded quarantine was declared in these cities. "We need to meet all norms. We all know that many citizens do not meet them. If all followed the rules precisely, we would not have the current situation," he said.
35 cases were confirmed in Osh on May 28, all these cases are among medical workers.
"There was outbreak there. They were quarantined for 14 days. They tested negative at first, but tested positive at the end of the incubation period. They did not contact anyone. This is why we had the opportunity to contain virus," Boronov said.
Compared to the very first days of fight against COVID-19, the work has been adjusted now: tests are made quickly, contacts are identified, suspected case are taken to the observation points, he added.
"68 cases were confirmed for the past 24 hours. 50 of them are imported and 18 are local cases. If we open the borders and resume flights, the number of cases may grow. We are preparing for this," Boronov added.
404 COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Bishkek and 179 cases in Osh by the morning of May 29.
