AKIPRESS.COM - The National Infectious Diseases Hospital in Bishkek will close for quarantine after outbreak of coronavirus among health workers, hospital chief Gulzhigit Aliev said. 19 medical workers of the hospital contracted COVID-19 during the last several days, he said.
"The official order of the Ministry of Health is pending, but we should close for quarantine. At present, we have more than 180 patients and 160 medical workers. We will not accept new patients until we discharge all patients we have," the hospital chief said.
He added the hospital worked without a break. "Doctors at other medical facilities work in terms and after 14 days of work are taken to the observation points. We receive new patients every day, sometimes we have to hospitalize 65 patients at once. Of course, this is a big workload for our doctors. Our doctors take care of patients day and night," he said.
Kyrgyzstan has so far confirmed 1,662 Covid-19 cases. 1,088 patients recovered. 16 patients died.
