Restructuring of tax authorities starts in Uzbekistan

AKIPRESS.COM - Restructuring has started in tax authorities of Uzbekistan, the State Tax Committee reported. The pilot project will be launched in Tashkent, Andizhan and Surhandarya regions. In these regions from June 1 tax payers start paying value added taxes in region tax departments and State Tax Department. Earlier VAT payments were made at district tax offices.
To date, 96,000 entrepreneurs-VAT payers have been registered in the State Tax Committee. The first stage of the project will concern 29,000 businessmen. In future other regions will be added to the new system. Since October 1, the new way of VAT payment will be practiced throughout Uzbekistan.
Restructuring does not require additional actions to register from entrepreneurs. The registration will be carried out by tax authorities.
