Long line of trucks still remains on Kyrgyz-Kazakh border

AKIPRESS.COM - A long line of trucks is still observed at the Ak-Tilek border crossing point on the Naryn-Torugar-Bishkek road in Issyk-Ata district, eyewitnesses told Turmush. Such long line of trucks is seen there for a month, they said.
"The line is around 3-4 km long. The long haul truck drivers said one truck is allowed to pass the border crossing point on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border in 3-4 hours," the eyewitnesses said.
Chui region administration said earlier that Kyrgyz border guards and health workers act in accordance with COVID-19 protocol on the border crossing point. People entering Chui region are tested for COVID-19.
The Kazakh side is taking as thorough actions to prevent spread of coronavirus.
"One of the reasons of such long line of trucks on the territory of Kyrgyzstan is that from 5 border crossing points in Chui region only 1 works now - Ak-Tilek border crossing point," the Chui region administration said.
Besides, it is season for export of vegetables and fruits.
In accordance with the resolution of the Kyrgyz government, trucks carrying perishable goods are allowed to pass their border crossing point without waiting for their turn.
