MP proposes to exempt air carriers from paying VAT on import of planes, engines and spare parts to Kyrgyzstan

AKIPRESS.COM - The draft amendments to the Tax Code of the Kyrgyz Republic propose to exempt domestic air carriers from paying VAT on imports of planes, engines and spare parts, MP Ainura Altybayeva said June 5.
Kyrgyzstan's aircraft fleet has jets older than 28 years. Those planes were purchased in the secondary market and have a long service life.
"During the pandemic, all airlines had to shut down their operations. Many governments are trying to provide targeted aviation and tourism assistance. These amendments to the Tax Code are needed to support the carriers and develop civil aviation," she said.
