AKIPRESS.COM - The situation in the Chon-Kapka road checkpoint on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border in Talas region is still critical, said head of the Talas Internal Affairs Department Almazbek Jumabekov on June 5. Only a few vehicles travelling from Kyrgyzstan to Kazakhstan are allowed through the Aisha-Bibi crossing point, he said. This has led to a large number of cars piling up in front of the checkpoint. They have to stand in line to cross the border.
Truck driver Janybek Rejapov is heading from Osh to Russia. He said he is standing in line for 4 days now. "Border crossing situation has improved over the past two days slightly, but it gets very hot during the daytime, up to +41C," Rejapov said.
More than 100 trucks are seen standing in queue to cross the checkpoint as of June 5.
