AKIPRESS.COM - Ex-Prime Minister Sapar Isakov was sentenced to 18 years in prison and 247 million soms fine for corruption within the illegal Historical Museum and Issyk-Kul horse racetrack reconstruction case, Pervomaiskiy District Court ruled June 9.
Previously, Sapar Isakov was found guilty of corruption within the case of illegal modernization of the Bishkek CHPP and was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Former advisor to president Mira Karybayeva was fined 260,000 soms for power abuse.
Total damage caused to the state was calculated at 247 million soms: 101.6 million soms (museum) and 145.9 million soms (racetrack).
The museum was supposed to be opened on 31 August 2017, but it has not been opened until now due to proceedings.
