Bill proposes to exempt imported electric cars and equipment from VAT and customs duties

AKIPRESS.COM - On June 10, the parliament is considering draft amendments to the Tax Code, the Law on Advertising of Kyrgyzstan in the first reading proposing to exempt electric cars and equipment imported into Kyrgyzstan from taxes. The bill proposes to exempt imported electric cars and equipment from customs duties and VAT, Deputy Economy Minister Bekbolot Aliyev said. Owners of electric cars will also be exempt from property tax, he added.
Deputy Head of the Tax Service Aidai Karagulova said that by the end of 2019, 8.2 million soms in VAT was paid from electric cars and equipment imported from the EAEU countries.
