Uzbekistan evacuates over 16,000 its citizens from abroad since start of COVID-19 pandemic

AKIPRESS.COM - Uzbekistan evacuated more than 16,000 citizens from abroad since start of COVID-19 pandemic.
108 flights were arranged in total between March 16 and June 7, the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan said.
Most of citizens - more than 10,700 - were airlifted from Russia.
1,920 citizens were brought from Turkey, 1,387 citizens were transported from the UAE.
40,600 citizens returned to Uzbekistan through the Uzbek-Kazakh border, 4,882 through the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border, 592 through Tajik-Uzbek border.
