Tajikistan criminalizes transmission of communicable diseases

AKIPRESS.COM - The lower chamber of the Tajik Parliament today passed the bill suggesting from 2 to 5 years in prison for transmission of communicable disease posing danger to others and from 5 to 10 years in prison for repeated transmission of disease.
The amendments were initiated by the Ministry of Justice.
Those breaking sanitary and epidemiological rules will face sanctions, Justice Minister Muzaffar Ashuriyon said.
Thus, wearing no mas in public places will be fined from 116 to 290 somoni. Spread of knowingly false information about pandemic in media and social networks will be fined from 580 to 1,160 somoni for individuals and up to 11,600 for legal entities.
