1.313 million people in Kyrgyzstan live below poverty line in 2019

AKIPRESS.COM - 1.313 million people in Kyrgyzstan lived below the poverty line in 2019. 73.8% of them lived in rural areas, the National Statistical Commitee reported.
660,800 children under 17 years of age lived in poverty in 2019. This is 28.3%.
The poverty rate in 2019 was calculated on the basis of consumer expenses and made 20.1%, which is 2.3% less than in the previous year.
The poverty rate in urban areas declined by 5.4% and by 0.5% in rural areas.
