MP suggests to simplify process for acquiring weapon for citizens of border areas of Kyrgyzstan

AKIPRESS.COM - "Mortars are used by our neighbors, while our citizens defend themselves with stones," MP Akylbek Japarov said in Parliament today during consideration of the amendments to the law on weapons.
The MP suggested that citizens of border areas of the country should be allowed to acquire weapon for self-defense.
"The process for acquiring weapons by citizens in border areas should be simplified," MP Japarov suggested.
Deputy Interior Minister Almazbek Orozaliev said citizens in border areas acquire weapon as citizens in other regions of the country.
The lawmaker referred to Scandinavian countries, where citizens receive weapon at the government's expense.
