AKIPRESS.COM - Infectious diseases and provisional hospitals in Nur-Sultan are 90% full with COVID-19 patients and patients with pneumonia. The number of patients put up on ventilators grew 4 times, Public Health Department Chief Saule Kisikova told a briefing today, vlast.kz reported.
"1,711 patients remain in infectious diseases and provisional hospitals, this is 90% of capacity of the hospitals. 80 people remain intensive care," she said.
91% of patients are in moderately severe condition and 9% are in critical condition, who are immediately taken to the intensive care, Kisikova said.
"Five patients with pneumonia were taken to hospitals at the beginning of the year, but now 500 people in average are taken to hospitals with pneumonia. Every second case is viral pneumonia," Saule Kisikova said.
She added that there 6,000 beds in hospitals in Nur-Sultan, but questioned whether available medical personnel will suffice.
2,951 COVID-19 cases were so far confirmed in Nur-Sultan, 376 cases were registered for the last 2 days.
