AKIPRESS.COM - Prime Minister Kubatbek Boronov apologized to people of Kyrgyzstan for having no mask during the photo taking ceremony outside the Government building.
The photo was taken on June 18, where 122 government members and staff of the Prime Minister's Office did not have face masks and only two were in masks.
President Sooronbai Jeenbekov today slammed the government officials for violation of sanitary requirements and demanded to fine them.
PM Boronov said the Parliament approved him as the Prime Minister and endorsed the government members on that day.
"Then we headed to the Government building. By tradition, together with the leaders of the parliamentary factions and the Chief of the President's Administration we entered the Prime Minister's office. After all left, together with Muhamedkaliy Abilgaziyev we considered the documents and talked about the work," Boronov said.
Then we asked the staff to come out to see the former Prime Minister off. "A group of workers of the government was in the corridor. They all had masks. Then they suggested to take a photo outside. Probably, they were asked to take masks off for a photo. I regret now that I did not pay attention to that. This moment cast shadow on all our work during the past 6 months. Of course, we were severely criticized by general public. This is right," Boronov said.
As the Prime Minister and head of hte nation-wide operative team for COVID-19 fight, Kubatbek Boronov apologized to all citizens of Kyrgyzstan. He added that line agencies will continue fight against coronavirus and emphasized citizens should wear masks and keep social distance.
"The Security Council offered its recommendations. In line with the law, starting with me, Deputy Prime Ministers, Head of the Prime Minister's Office and the former Prime Minister will pay fines. Junior staff will not pay fines as they were invited to say good-bye to the ex-PM by heads of their departments. I assure that all staff of the government wear masks at their work places," the Prime Minister said.
Each of the above government officials will be fined for 3,000 soms for failure to wear face mask and keep a social distance.
