AKIPRESS.COM - Supreme Court of Kyrgyzstan upheld the 15-year sentence for ex-Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sapar Isakov on June 22.
On January 26, 2018 a major breakdown occurred in the Bishkek CHPP leaving the residents of the city without heating during the coldest since 2012 days. A number of high-ranking officials, including ex-Prime Ministers and top managers, were arrested afterwards within the criminal probe into legality of modernization of the power plant on the TBEA grant.
Isakov is found guilty of corruption within the high-profile Bishkek power plant modernization case on the Chinese grant.
Ex-CEO of National Energy Holding Aibek Kaliyev was sentenced to 14 years in prison.
Former Prime Minister Jantoro Satybadiyev was sentenced to 7 years in prison.
Ex-CEO of the Electric Stations Salaidin Avazov was sentenced to 11 years in prison.
Former deputy head of the National Energy Holding Joldoshbek Nazarov sentenced to 2 years and 6 months in prison.
