AKIPRESS.COM - President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev acknowledged that doctors lack personal protective gear due to the second coronavirus outbreak. The government will solve this problem soon, he promised during online forum Biz Birgemiz today, reports Vlast.kz.
"Doctors, nurses, hospital assistants, ambulance workers face the most stressful fight during this pandemic. Every day they show their inner power and bravery when commit heroic acts in contrary to life conditions. During the second pandemic they have to deal with lack of protective gear, medicines, places in hospitals. We'll solve these problems soon. The government will put efforts to improve the situation," Tokayev said.
President noted that in Kazakhstan 80 COVID-19 cases are confirmed per 100 000, which is average on world scale.
He said that people follow the statistics, but forget to check recovery rates.
"About half of infected people have high quality of medical services. I'm sure that majority of patients will recover successfully," he said.
Tokayev also reminded that COVID-19 containment in the world becomes more and more difficult.
"Our country is not the only one which faced coronavirus attack. After emergency situation cancellation we relaxed. Some citizens and state workers thought that dangerous stage is over. We underestimated risks, stopped following medical regulations. Some people believed that the disease does not exist. But COVID-19 is a threat, and the government has to strengthen quarantine measures," Tokayev said.
Kazakhstan's President noted that during pandemic people should be able to gain useful experience, strengthen family relationships or create pieces of art. He expressed his sincere belief that humanity will win the crisis and change life views.
