AKIPRESS.COM - EU Special Representative for Central Asia Peter Burian, Ambassadors of the Central Asian states based in Belgium, officials of the European Commission and European External Action Service held a video conference, Dunyo news agency reported.
The participants of the virtual conference discussed the current aspects of regional cooperation, upcoming EU-Central Asia events.
The earlier planned regional events are postponed until the end of this year or the beginning of 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Particularly, it is planned to hold the European Union-Central Asia Economic Forum in Bishkek and the EU-Central Asia Civil Society Forum in Almaty in the first half of 2021.
The 16th EU-Central Asia Ministerial Meeting is supposed to be held in November 2020 in Brussels.
The participants of the video conference supported the initiative of Uzbekistan to hold the EU-Central Asia Ministerial Conference on strengthening of regional ties and sustainable development in Tashkent and EU-Central Asia Tourism Forum in Khiva or Bukhara.
