AKIPRESS.COM - The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekisan in cooperation with the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Italy and Italian-Uzbek Commerce Chamber organized Uzbek-Italian Forum of pharmacy via video conference on June 25. Head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Adham Ikramov, president of Italian-Uzbek Commerce Chamber Luigi Iperti, Uzbekistan's Ambassador Otabek Akbarov, director of Agency for Pharmacy Development Sardor Kariev, pharmacy industry representatives, regional offices of the Chamber participated in the event.
During the video conference the sides discussed pharmacy industry development between regions, including experience exchange, preparing of workers and usage of modern technology to produce medicines and export them to European markets.
Uzbekistan and Italy discussed further commercial and economic cooperation and discussed expansion of partnership between Uzbek and Italian pharmacy companies.
According to Uzbekistan's data, bilateral trade with Italy in 2019 stood at $402.3 million, which is by 32% more than in 2018 ($303.2 million). Export amounted to $26.6 million and import totaled $375.7 million.
50 companies with Italian capital are active in Uzbekistan. The main spheres of interest include production of non-alcohol beverages, wine, bottle accessories, perfumes, ice cream, clothes, recycle of cotton waste, commerce and intermediary services.
