Kazakhstan may reinstate strict quarantine

AKIPRESS.COM - President Kasym-Jomart Tokayev during a video conference on COVID-19 containment yesterday instructed the state commission to submit suggestions on reinstatement of strict quarantine restrictions, Kazinform reported.
"I instruct to develop all decisions on fight against the pandemic, addressing negative social and economic effects in the framework of the state commission led by the Prime Minister. The state commission should ensure a centralized control over distribution of critical resources. I task the state comission to formulate suggestions on reinstatement of strict quarantine like that was in effect in March-May within 2 days and submit these suggestions to me," the President ordered.
Kazakhstan has so far confirmed 21,819 COVID-19 cases and 17,642 asymptomatic cases registered since June 3.
