AKIPRESS.COM - Turkmen grain farmers harvested more than 1.4 million tons of wheat from 690,000 hectares of land plots, thus fully fulfilling the state wheat harvest plan, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH) reports. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers and the State Security Council on Monday.
Before the meeting, the governors of the regions gave reports on the implementation of the state wheat harvest plan.
According to the reports, the grain producers harvested 400,000 tons of wheat in Ahal region, 80,000 tons in Balkan velayat, 265,000 tons in Dashoguz velayat, 310,000 tons in Lebap region and 345,000 tons in Mary region.
Farmers in Turkmenistan's Ahal, Lebap and Mary regions started harvesting wheat on June 5 and wheat growers of Balkan and Dashoguz regions joined them on June 12.
