Quarantine for plaque declared in western Mongolia

AKIPRESS.COM - Quarantine measures were introduced in two districts of Khovd region, in west of Mongolia, after reports about plaque.
The quarantine is in effect from 10.00 am of June 29 until further notice.
According to the National Zoonotic Infectious Diseases Center, a 27-year-old resident of Tsetseg district in Khovd region was taken to the hospital on Sunday after she ate the marmot meat. A young woman is in critical condition. She directly contacted more than 60 people and indirectly with over 400 people.
In April 2019, a couple died in the neighboring Bayan Olgiy region after they ate a raw meat of marmot.
