South Korea to provide $5 million emergency assistance to Uzbekistan for COVID-19 response

AKIPRESS.COM - The Government of South Korea made the decision to provide $5 million emergency assistance to Uzbekistan for COVID-19 response, Gazeta.uz reported with reference to the press service of the Embassy in Tashkent.
The memorandum of understanding will be signed between Korea International Cooperation Agency and the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan in near time.
The assistance will be used for purchase of medical equipment, improvement of professional skills of medical professionals, development of mobile applications on COVID-19, supply of personal protective items for vulnerable groups of population.
Several batches of humanitarian aid were sent to Uzbekistan from South Korea earlier for COVID-19 fight.
35 million KF 80/94 masks for more than $300,000 will be sent to Uzbekistan in July, the Embassy said.
