Kyrgyz government prepares more beds for COVID-19 patients as hospitals filled beyond capacity

AKIPRESS.COM - President Sooronbai Jeenbekov today discussed the current COVID-19 situation with Prime Minister Kubatbek Boronov, the president's press service reported. The Prime Minister briefed the President about the actions taken by the nation-wide operative team for coronavirus containment, Health Ministry, Bishkek authorities, region administration in COVID-19 fight.
750 beds will be prepared in dormitories of educational institutions and 400 beds more will be prepared at Manas Airport before the end of this day, the PM said.
Residents and interns are mobilized to address shortage of medical workers, he said.
Despite the pandemic, all social obligations of the government will be met in full and timely, he added.
The President demanded to step up epidemiological efforts across the country and to prepare for upcoming cold season.
