Kyrgyzstan has 572 available lung ventilators

AKIPRESS.COM - "Oxygen concentrators are one of main problems for today. We faced their shortage since resurgence in COVID-19 cases," Prime Minister Kubatbek Boronov told a press conference today.
Another problem is shortage of medical professionals, he said.
"500 oxygen concentrators were purchased in China last week and they are used already. Besides, concentrators were received from Uzbekistan, Turkey. The concentrators were also handed over by our businessmen from Moscow," the PM said.
The plane will arrive tomorrow with 200 oxygen concentrators from China. 300 concentrators more will arrive in two days. "I think we will address the shortage of concentrators with these two batches in Bishkek and the regions, where the situation is getting worse," the Prime Minister said.
There are 572 functioning available lung ventilators in the country. There is no shortage of ventilators according to the Ministry of Health, the Prime Minister said.
"In general, according to estimations of the Ministry of Health, we lack 220 ventilators to meet the norm. We hope to resove this issue entirely soon," the Prime Minister said.
