South Korea to increase budget of cooperation program with Uzbekistan up to $1 billion

AKIPRESS.COM - Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov held talks with South Korea's Minister of Economy and Finances Hong Nam-ki in Seoul on July 6, Ministry's press service reports.
The sides supported initiative of 3-year-program for economic and technological cooperation of Korea and Uzbekistan in 2021-2023 and increased its budget to $1 billion.
6 projects for $500 million are being realized as part of cooperation program in health, geodesy, cartography, ICT and education system in 2018-2020.
Korea expressed readiness to support new projects in cooperation with Export-Import Bank of Korea and Economic Development Cooperation Fund.
The sides also discussed successful projects such as production of potato seeds with the help of Korean Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, establishment of Uzbek-Korean Center for scientific research and modern construction technology usage, construction of center for education and innovative preschool education system, introduction of Uzbek-Korean cooperation model for innovation in digital health care.
